The celebrating of
anniversaries has been a popular custom since mankind began and
notes eventful dates in the course of life. In an earlier age, when
the burdens of life were more arduous, the hours of labor longer,
and the routine more tedious, people looked for occasions that could
be celebrated, wedding date being the most awaited and cherished
one. Anniversary is not only a moment of celebration, but also a
moment of dedication. Every marriage needs the love, nurture, and
support of a network of friends and family.
Generally, if an anniversary party is thrown in the earlier years
of a marriage, it is hosted by the couple themselves. Parties to
celebrate the later anniversaries, such as the 25th, are hosted by
the couples children. For these parties, guests should bring gifts
unless specified on the invitation. Close friends or relatives who
wish to provide a memento of the occasion should deliver the gift
before the party. The ideas are endless although it should be
suggested they evolve around the theme of the anniversary. Try and
think of everything that is made of the associated anniversary and
build the party and ideas from there.
